Offset is taking a different approach to his solo album: No singles, and no features

Axelle/Bauer-Griffin/FilmMagicFollowing the recent solo releases by his fellow Migos members Quavo and Takeoff, Offset is dropping his own solo album next month — but he’s taking a very different approach than most artists.

“No features, I’m coming by myself,” the 26-year-old rapper tells Billboard. “I got features top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 right now. I don’t need any features right now.”

The still–untitled album will drop on December 14, Offset’s birthday, and he does not plan to promote any specific songs.

“I’m not putting out any singles because I know that’s how all the artists are,” he says. “You be thinking one song is hot and it be the other one.” Offset remembers he did not expect his 2017 collabo with Metro Boomin, “Ric Flair Drip,” would blow up, and it went triple-platinum.

Cardi B’s husband says his solo album will reflect the joy and pain of the two past years, including his marriage, the birth on the couple’s baby Kulture, and when he totaled his car in an accident in May.

“I’m talking about relevant situations that have occurred over the last 18 or 24 months, like me being in the crash, my kids, my family time and me being married.” he says.

“There’s different parts of my life,” he adds. “The ups and downs of being in music, the feeling of people doubting me and being the underdog to becoming the big dog.”

Bono, Snoop, others gather on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for his fourth-annual (RED) benefit show

ABCJimmy Kimmel Live! aired its fourth annual (RED) benefit show on Monday, November 19th, in honor of World AIDS Day on December 1st.

Guests for the evening’s show included Bono, Brad Paisley, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Kristen Bell, Channing Tatum, Snoop Dogg, Mila Kunis, Pharrell and more. As always, the show featured a Home Shopping Network-like Shop-A-Thon segment, in which celebrities inform people what products they can buy that benefit the charity founded by U2‘s Bono.

The U2 frontman sang a torch song-style cover of the Bee Gees “Stayin’ Alive” with Pharrell, and also announced that he’d be collaborating with Lady Gaga for a contest that would have the two icons creating a song named after the winner — with all the proceeds benefiting the HIV/AIDS charity.

More information can be found at the charity’s website.
