K. Michelle is still angry at Idris Elba for refusing to admit they had a relationship

Derek BlanksIt’s been four years since K. Michelle dated Idris Elba, and she’s still angry that he’s refused to admit publicly that they were ever together.

“I wrote a whole album called Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart?, and every single song was about him,” Michelle says on an upcoming episode of TV One’s Sister Circle .

Michelle says she’ll never forget how Elba refused to back her up when nobody believed they were dating.

“He did not come out and say ‘Stop attacking her,'” she claims. “I’m not over that.”

The Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood star says things came to a head when she learned Elba was having a baby with another woman.

“From the passing of his father all the way down. I was the one that was there,” she recalls. “I just remember being so hurt that this baby was coming.”

The 34-year-old artist says she also realized that she and the actor didn’t have the same values.

“He didn’t believe in marriage. He didn’t believe in a lot of things that I believed in, spiritually and everything,” says Michelle. “And it just wasn’t a spiritual match for me.”

The “V.S.O.P.” singer also says that the Golden Globe-winning actor was more interested in preserving his image than protecting her from critics.

“I feel like you picked looking like a great guy over someone who had your back, through everything,” she says, addressing Elba. “When you didn’t get nominated for Mandela. When you didn’t…all of that. When you cried. Everything. I had your back, and you didn’t have mine in the midst of everybody tweeting me and attacking me.”

“He showed that he wasn’t my friend.”

The Sister Circle episode featuring K. Michelle airs October 15 on TV One.

“It feels amazing, and it feels like such a wild thing. I feel like every obstacle I surpassed it,” she tells ABC News of her AMA wins. “Then people said I was going to be a one-hit wonder. Then I did a good album. Then I got pregnant and I don’t know what’s going to happen with my career, and then I still jumped up, pregnant and all, and it’s like, levels, levels, levels, and I keep beating.”

American Music Awards 2018: Taylor Swift breaks record for most wins by a female artist, encourages fans to vote in midterm elections

Getty Images for dcp via ABC/Kevin Mazur/AMA2018It was a record-breaking night for Taylor Swift at the American Music Awards.

Not only did the pop superstar open the show with a fiery performance of “I Did Something Bad,” but she went on to win four awards, breaking Whitney Houston’s record for most AMA wins by a female artist. She took home the trophies for Tour of the Year, Favorite Pop/Rock Album for Reputation, and Artist of the Year — bringing her career total to 23 AMAs.

In addition to breaking a record, Taylor continued to break her silence on politics. After getting political in an Instagram post over the weekend, Taylor used her acceptance speech for Artist of the Year to encourage people to vote.

“I just wanted to make a mention at the fact that this award and every single award given out tonight were voted on by the people,” she said, “and you know what else is voted on by the people is the midterm elections on November 6.”

Taylor also seemingly teased a new album is in the works during her acceptance speech for Pop/Rock Album, saying she was glad fans embraced her Reputation era but was “even more excited for the next chapter.”

There were only a couple of other political moments during the night — including a passionate call to vote from presenter Billy Eichner and host Tracee Ellis Ross wearing a t-shirt that said, “I am a voter.”

It was also a night of “firsts” for a handful of artists. Camila Cabello won her first two AMAs as a solo artist, for Favorite Pop/Rock Song for “Havana” and New Artist of the Year. R&B singer Khalid, rap group Migos and country singer Kane Brown also became first-time AMA winners. The late rapper XXXTentacion won for Favorite Soul/R&B Album and his mother accepted on his behalf.

And as always, the ceremony boasted a slew of stellar musical performances.

Cardi B, who won for Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, delivered her first post-baby TV performance with her hit “I Like It” featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny. The three turned the stage into a colorful fiesta.

Jennifer Lopez debuted a new female empowerment anthem called “Limitless” from her upcoming movie Second Act, showing off her vocal chops and giving her dancing skills a rest; Mariah Carey sang her new song “With You” dressed in a form-fitting pink gown and surrounded by male dancers; and Panic! at the Disco paid tribute to Queen with a rendition of “Bohemian Rhapsody” performed live from Brisbane, Australia.

Khalid and Halsey, joined by producer Benny Blanco, delivered a chill performance of their new collab “Eastside.” So chill in fact, that Halsey actually had time to tweet from the stage.

“On stage right now at the AMAs,” she wrote. “Wearing my favorite Jordans lol. Tweeting during my performance. #priorities.”

The show ended with an emotional tribute to Aretha Franklin that brought the house down. The gospel production featured Gladys Knight, Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and CeCe Winans.

Ella Mai credits Chris Brown as the first star to promote “Boo’d Up”

10 Summers/Interscope RecordsElla Mais debut album, due Friday, features Chris Brown, and she credits Breezy with being the first star to promote her breakout hit, “Boo’d Up.”

“Chris Brown was the first celebrity or musician to really tap into ‘Boo’d Up’ and say, ‘Wow I really love this song,’” she tells Billboard.” “He was on his Instagram story playing it before it blew up.”

Brown is featured on the song “Whatchamacallit” on Mai’s new album, and she says it was a joy recording with him.

“He was so excited to be in the studio with me and he was telling me what a fan he is of my music, which is insane because I’m such a huge Chris Brown fan,” she gushes. “It’s supposed to be the other way around!”

The album also features John Legend on the song, “Everything,” and H.E.R. on “Gut Feeling.”

“John Legend — who is a legend, no pun intended — I’m excited for everyone to hear us on a track together, because I don’t think it’s a collaboration that anyone expected,” the 23-year-old British singer comments.

“I met H.E.R. at the BET awards in June. I really wanted her on the album because as females in R&B, especially both coming up as new artists, a lot of the time everyone in the world and in the media can pit you against each other and make it a competition,” she continues.

“She brought me out when she was opening up for Chris Brown to do ‘Boo’d Up’ in New York. I played her [‘Gut Feeling’],” Mai remembers. “She loved it and sent me back her verse maybe a couple days later.”

As Mai prepares to release her album on Friday, she’s continuing as one of the opening acts on Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic tour.
